Dylan was honest. He was self absorbed, arrogant, did have a sense of justice, abused and traumatized by his parents, desperate for unconditional love and to be valued. For those reasons Kelly saw herself in him. Brenda however loved and challenged him towards self reflection and knowing himself and to grow. Dylan was cared for by Brenda, Jim, Cindy and Brandon. This was the heart of the reason for the show was families.
